Photo of the Month – September 2016

Congratulations to Jim Loomis – winner of the Photo of the Month contest for September

 

The photograph was taken on the Upper St. Joe River from a pontoon boat using a Nikon D610 camera with a 70-200  2.8 lens and a 1.4 teleconverter.  “I had been trying to photograph birds ‘on the wing’, hence the high speed. The swan was in a shaded area, giving me the idea to superimpose it against a black background. I had actually gone out to find herons to photograph, but also came back with this unique shot.”
